Longhouse

A recently restored 17th Century Longhouse combining modern comforts with craft & history.

Substantially restored to reveal a host of original features that include the inglenook fireplace, flagstone floor, and even a series of apotropaic witch marks to ward off evil spirits and bring good fortune during your stay.

Alongside uncovering the building’s history we’ve installed modern luxuries that include super king-size beds by Harrison Spinks, deep spring-filled baths and powerful showers, central heating, and a fully kitted kitchen with Miele appliances. When the winter nights draw in, hunker down in front of the fire and delve into the treasure trove of board games, DVDs or stream your favourite movie.

As much as we want you to enjoy the house, nothing beats a campfire when on holiday. The adjoining Dutch barn, constructed from 19th Century reclaimed railway line, provides an undercover outdoor area so that even if the weather isn’t the best, you can keep the campfires burning. Here, we also have space for outside dining, BBQ, a game of Boule, or just soaking up the view, all to the backdrop of a babbling stream and the chirping of birds.
